The Six Nations Explained

The Six Nations Championship is an international rugby competition between 6 European countries: Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, France, and Italy.

History

The Six Nations Championship was first played in 1883 and expanded to include six teams in 2000, making it the oldest international rugby competition in history. It comprises three rugby competitions each year for men, women, and U20s.



Matches

The competition is organized in 5 different rounds from 4th of February to 18th of March. To open the competition, the six nations will played against each other during 2 days for the first round. The matches played in Ireland will be on the against France on February 11 during round 2 and against England on March 18 during the round 5.


Round 1

  • February 4: Wales Vs Ireland - 14:15

  • February 4: England Vs Scotland -16:45

  • February 5: France Vs Italy - 15:00


Round 2

  • February 11: Ireland Vs France - 14:15

  • February 11: Scotland Vs Wales - 16:45

  • February 12: England Vs Italy - 15:00

Round 3

  • February 25: Italy Vs Ireland - 14:15

  • February 25: Wales Vs England - 16:45

  • February 26: France Vs Scotland - 15:00

Round 4

  • March 11: Italy Vs Wales - 14:15

  • March 11: England Vs France - 16:45

  • March 12: Scotland Vs Ireland - 15:00


Round 5

  • March 18: Scotland Vs Italy - 12:30

  • March 18: France Vs Wales - 14:45

  • March 18: Ireland Vs England - 17:00
